Cook down apples: place apples in a large pot over medium heat. Add water, lemon juice, sugar and spices. Bring to a boil and let simmer 15-20 minutes or until apples are soft.
Puree: Once the apples are soft, use blender/food processor/potato masher to blend until they reach your desired consistency. I like to keep mine a little chunky.
Serve warm or cold. Enjoy!

LEFTOVERS/STORAGE: Store applesauce in a glass container (I like to use a small mason jar). Some sources say homemade applesauce lasts about 10 days in the fridge, while others claim it lasts up to 3 weeks. But it will last a couple months in the freezer.NUTRITION NOTES: Applesauce is a good source of prebiotic fiber, antioxidants, and B vitamins.SERVING SUGGESTION: This applesauce is great on its own as a snack.
