A super fresh and fun take a standard margarita, made by blending together lots of lime and cilantro, your favorite tequila, and a splash of simple syrup, all served in salted glass.
Prep your glass: run a lime (the juicy side) around the rim of your glasses. Fill a shallow bowl or small plate with salt and dip the glass in coarse salt until the rim is covered. Set aside.
Blend. Combine lime juice, zest and cilantro leaves/stems in a blender and blend until smooth. You shouldn’t see any chunks of cilantro.
Strain (optional). You can strain the cilantro-lime mixture using a small mesh strainer. Staining will help reduce the sediment that would otherwise sink to the bottom of your glass. If you’re okay with a little sediment and stirring your glass as your drink, don’t worry about straining.
Combine the cilantro-lime mixture, tequila and sweetener in a cocktail shaker or mason jar and shake or stir until combined.
Serve: Fill your glass with ice and pour in the margarita mixture. Garnish with a lime wedge and cilantro leaves. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
