You deserve to heal
Heal your relationship with food and reconnect to your body through weight-inclusive and trauma-informed nutrition counseling

Diet culture has fed us lies that we can't trust our body.
Somewhere along the way, you learned that your body needed to be managed, monitored, or shrunk.
You've already tried the food rules, the tracking, the willpower. Maybe it worked for a while. Maybe it didn't. Either way, you're still thinking about food more than you want to, and your body still doesn't feel like home.
You don't need to be fixed. You need space to heal - and a way back to trusting your body again.

It's time for you and your body to be on the same team

So great to meet you!
Hello and welcome! I'm Libby Bloom, Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. I provide nutrition therapy in Durango, Colorado, and online for all of Colorado, as well as New Mexico, Maine, Texas and other states. I'm glad you're here.
I help people heal their relationship with food and their bodies in a way that is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and grounded in evidence-based care.
My work is about creating space for you to nourish yourself without fear, rules, or constant mental calculations-so life doesn't revolve around food anymore.
Together, we look beneath the surface of eating struggles to rebuild trust with your body, soften perfectionism, and reduce the pressure to "get it right."
I take a weight-inclusive and trauma-informed approach, helping you move toward a more peaceful, intuitive way of eating where you feel more present, more confident, and more free to live the life you want.

Insurance and Billing Information
Access to care is something we highly value at The Cooked Carrot. We are actively working to expand in-network care with other insurance providers.
We are currently in-network with:
If we do not accept your insurance, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits. Please note that a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement. Sessions that are not covered by insurance will be the responsibility of the client.
How it works
I specialize in providing services using an anti-diet, values-centered, & body liberation approach for those who struggle with disordered eating / eating disorders and/or chronic illness. In addition, I am also gender-affirming, weight-inclusive, and trauma-informed.
1. Schedule your free discovery session
2. Complete intake forms
3. Have your first session
4. Continue meeting with your dietitian
Here we'll chat for 30 minutes via video or phone call about why you reached out, your goals, how I can best support you, and schedule your first session.
This helps me learn more about you and will serve as the starting point for our initial session.
During this session we'll go at your own pace. I'll have some questions but recognize meeting a new provider can feel daunting. I'm here to take things slow or dive right in. I can't wait to get to know you!
This is where the bulk of where the emotional work comes in. We'll explore your evolving relationship with food and your body and I'll provide support for your journey toward a more positive relationship with food, body image and self.
I know this feels daunting, but I've got your back.
Through nutrition counseling, you'll learn:
- That no food is "good" or "bad," it's just food
- How to tell when you're hungry or full, and trust it
- How to get through a bad body image day without it shaking your self-worth
- How to make eating fit into your life instead of run it
- How to give food less of your brain space

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I want to lose weight?
I understand that many people come to me with a long history of dieting, weight concerns, and a desire to lose weight, often shaped by personal experiences, medical messaging, and societal pressures. While I do not provide weight loss plans or prescribe diets, I deeply value body autonomy and honor each person's right to make decisions about their body.
I practice from a weight-inclusive, Health at Every Size® (HAES®)-aligned framework. This means I focus on supporting your overall well-being-including physical, emotional, and relational health-without using weight as the indicator of progress. Rather than focusing on changing your body, I work with you to build a more peaceful relationship with food, movement, and your body, wherever you are in your journey.
I'm here to hold space for your experiences and help you explore what feeling better in your body can mean, even if weight loss is a hope or curiosity for you. You don't have to leave those feelings at the door and you won't be judged for them. I just won't use intentional weight loss as a treatment goal.
Do you take insurance?
The Crooked Carrot is currently in network with Aetna.
If you have another insurance plan, you can check for out-of-network benefits and/or I am happy to provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance to receive potential reimbursement. See Rates & Insurance for more information. Sliding scale options are available as well if finances are a barrier.
What is the cost of sessions if I'm not using insurance?
If The Crooked Carrot Nutrition is not an in-network provider with your insurance plan, you are responsible for payment at the time of service. We accept credit cards, debit cards, bank debit, FSA cards, HSA cards and bank debits. Sessions are 55 minutes and rates are $145 for a 55-minute initial or follow-up session.
If The Crooked Carrot is an in-network provider with your insurance plan, nutrition counseling may be fully covered by your insurance benefits. Sometimes, you may owe a co-pay or co-insurance for each visit, may have to reach a deductible, or may have a limited number of visits covered per year. Verifying your benefits using the script above will give you some clarity on this.
Sliding scale options are available as well if finances are a barrier.
Do you work with eating disorders?
Yes. I work with adults at various stages of eating disorder recovery, including those navigating restriction, bingeing, purging behaviors, ARFID, and long-standing disordered eating patterns.
Nutrition work is always tailored to where you are. Some clients are early in recovery and need more structure and support around adequacy and consistency. Others are working on stabilization, repair, or maintaining progress during stressful life seasons.
When appropriate, I collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, and other members of a care team to support safe, coordinated care.
Where will we meet?
We can meet in office on Tuesdays or we can meet virtually via our HIPAA compliant platform.
