    Easy Mediterranean Naan Pizza - a super easy naan pizza recipe featuring Mediterranean flavors: hummus, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and feta.

    You’ve probably noticed that we’re huge fans of Mediterranean-inspired meals. There is a lot of research showing the benefits of eating a Mediterranean style diet. Check out our talk on the basics of the Mediterranean diet for more information. 

    What do we make when we want a healthy meal, but we’re short on time? That can depend on the ingredients we have on hand, but an easy go-to is Naan Pizza! Naan pizza is a great way to use up those odds and ends you have around your kitchen.

    This Naan Pizza recipe is easily adapted to whatever you happen to have on hand. Or whichever of your foods need to be used up before they go bad. Digging around our fridge we’re almost always sure to find hummus, sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes. So our odds-and-ends pizza of choice is a Mediterranean Naan Pizza. So good!

    Have some sad looking veggies on hand? Chop em’ up and make a naan pizza. Mix it up to make it your own! Add some capers, try spinach or kale over basil, or add goat cheese instead of feta. Add tomatoes or go for pizza classic with a fresh tomato sauce.

    This Mediterranean Naan pizza is incredibly simple to make, easily adaptable, and a great scrappy recipe. It’s quick and great for meal prepping, is vegetarian and easily made vegan.

    Ready to make this simple Mediterranean Naan Pizza? Let’s do it!

    1 - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 

    2 - Place the naan bread on a lined baking sheet. Spread hummus over the naan, top with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and feta. 

    3 - Bake pizzas for 20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. 

    4 - Garnish the pizzas with fresh basil and red pepper flakes. Enjoy!

    Mediterranean Naan Pizza: Tips, Tricks and Tools

    Tools: This simple pizza recipe requires just a baking sheet and silicone baking mat. 

    Variations:  Feel free to make this your own and use the ingredients you have on hand. Use spinach or kale instead of basil. Use goat cheese instead of feta. Add tomatoes or  tomato sauce instead of hummus.

    To julienne basil: Place basil leaves in a stack, roll them together, length-wise, and slice into thin strips.

    Ingredients

    • 2 pieces naan bread
    • 3 tablespoons hummus we like spicy red pepper
    • 1 (6 ounce) jar marinated artichokes
    • ¼ cup sun dried tomatoes sliced
    • ¼ cup olives optional
    • feta cheese for garnish
    • 1 handful basil julienne, for garnish
    • red pepper flakes for garnish
    US Customary - Metric

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 
    • Place naan bread on a lined baking sheet. Spread hummus over naan, top with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and feta. 
    • Bake pizzas for 20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. 
    • Garnish with basil and red pepper flakes.

    Notes

    PREP AHEAD: This recipe comes together in minutes and it’s great for meal prep - you can easily make several pizzas and store them in the fridge for later. 
    LEFTOVERS/STORAGE: Store in an airtight glass container in the fridge for 4-6 days. Reheat in the oven for crispy crust. 
    NUTRITION NOTES: This naan pizza recipe is an easy way to pack in the veggies. It’s easily customizable and will be much lower in sodium than most store-bought pizzas. With the mediterranean toppings, this pizza is vegetarian, high in fiber and a good source of plant-based protein. 
    VARIATIONS: Feel free to make this your own and use the ingredients you have on hand. Use spinach or kale instead of basil. Use goat cheese instead of feta. Add tomatoes or even use tomato sauce instead of hummus!
