Sweet and Spicy Mixed Nuts – sweetened with honey and seasoned with cumin, paprika, garlic and chili powder. A perfect snack or holiday appetizer.
Spiced nuts are one of my favorite holiday appetizers. I’m always thrilled to see them alongside a delicious cheese board – our go-to starters for a holiday spread.
Though I will say, I’m a bit particular about spiced nuts. Not too sweet, not too salty, but fully flavorful and crunchy.
Hi there! Below you’ll find affiliate links to great products that we enjoy using in our own kitchen.
I’ve done spiced nuts before without any sweetener, which are great for an everyday snack. But when I want something a bit more special, I like to add a touch of honey for a bit of added sweetness. The honey also helps the nuts bake together, which results in plenty of amazing bites of that chewy goodness of candied honey. So good! Kinda wish I had some right here…
These Sweet and Spicy Mixed Nuts come together in less than 30 minutes. Great for a simple snack or flavorful holiday appetizer.
Alright, ready to make these Sweet and Spicy Mixed Nuts? Let’s do it!
1 – Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
3 – Roast for 15-20 minutes. You want the nuts to be nice and crunchy, but keep an eye on them so they don’t burn. Remove from oven and let cool. I like to add a bit of course sea salt or Maldon Salt as they’re cooling to bring out those great natural flavors. Don’t worry if they aren’t fully crispy when you take them out, they’ll continue to crisp up as they cool. Share and enjoy!
These spiced nuts are super simple and 100% delicious.

Swap in a different type of nut or use more of another type. Just keep the ratio in mind.
Ratio: For each cup of nuts, you’ll use about 1 tablespoon of oil and 1 tablespoon of honey/sweetener.
Make it vegan: use maple syrup instead of honey.
